NTT DoCoMo Licenses Nissan’s Scratch Shield Paint Technology

Nissan Motor announced that it will license its “Scratch Shield” paint to NTT DoCoMo for mobile phone in Japan. The self-healing paint, currently applied to certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles worldwide, was developed in collaboration with University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials.

The Scratch Shield was commercially introduced in December, 2005.It is able to self-heal fine scratches and is capable of restoring the vehicles’s paint surfaces overnight or up to a week’s time in more severe cases. The Scratch Shield paint is also more scratch-resistant than conventional paint, therefore, contributing to a more durable and long-lasting paint coat.

Nokia X6 Available Now in Selected Markets

Bundled with the Nokia Comes With Music service, the Nokia X6, is now available in selected markets. The Nokia X6 is expected to retail for approximately EUR 450, before taxes and subsidies.

Featuring a 32GB internal memory, the Nokia X6 is a full touch screen phone powered by a 3.2-inch wide display in 16:9 ratio (360 x 640 pixels) and 16 million colors. The touch screen phone also comes with a 5 megapixel camera module. It does not have a Xenon flash but assisted by 2 flash LED for low light photography. With direct access to Ovi Store, the Nokia X6 is a hive of activity that brings 20 friends and virtual communities, like Facebook, to your homescreen. Other than a range of the Nokia Ovi services, the phone retail package will also package with Spore by EA, Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft games.

3 UK Partners With Mobix Interactive To Launch Mobile TV Subscription Video-On-Demand Offering

Mobile operator 3 has launched the first mobile TV subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, giving subscribers on-demand access to entire episodes of hit TV shows. The breakthrough SVOD service, called ‘TV on Demand’, is fully managed and powered by Mobix Interactive.

Leveraging Mobix’s Adrenalin technology and numerous partner studios and programmer relationships, TV on Demand  offers a variety of top-rated television shows (comedy, drama, etc.), enabling subscribers to extend their enjoyment of complete programs while they’re on the go.

Subscribers will pay either £5 per month or £1.49 per day for unlimited access to all shows in the service. Full content details of the service will be launched shortly.
