Is Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 on Schedule for 2008 Release?

Although there isn’t a confirm release date for Xperia X1 windows mobile smartphone yet, SEMC Blog today revealed some unannounced accessories made for the Xperia X1. Is this indicating a release date for this year? We last heard it will be released in mid-September this year.

Sony Ericsson K330 and W890 in New Color Skins

The unofficial Sony Ericsson blog has got some pictures on the K330 in White-Gold and the W890 candybar phone in Gold-Silver color. Available from Q3 this year, the K330 is a entry level camera phone that comes with bluetooth, VGA camera, FM Radio and 10 MB internal memory.

NTT DOCOMO and ATT Extend 3G Network throughout Hawaii

NTT DOCOMO and AT&T announced today that the extension of a third-generation (3G) mobile network to all principal islands in the U.S. state of Hawaii has been completed. Using AT&T’s 3G network, which is based on W-CDMA technology, DOCOMO customers now have access to data and voice roaming services in the main populated areas of Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kauai.

NTT DOCOMO began providing 3G roaming services on Oahu in October 2007 and then extended the services to other islands including Hawaii and Maui islands as the network was expanded.

DOCOMO handsets compatible with international roaming services in the Hawaiian Islands are the SH905iTV, SH906i, F906i, SO906i, N906iμ, SH906iTV, NM705i, NM706i (to be available soon), hTc Z and HT1100.

Palringo Rich Messaging Service Available on Apple App Store

iPhone owners can now download Palringo’s rich messaging service (RMS) application from Apple’s new App Store. Palringo enables picture messaging and text-based messaging. Palringo integrates with several existing, popular instant messaging services: AOL’s AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ, Jabber and Windows Live Messenger. People can also use Palringo to contact their friends using iChat, Apple’s instant messaging (IM) client.

Palringo for the iPhone is free, and is now available to download and install from Apple’s new App Store. There are no hidden costs, catches or other charges. Vocal IM, which is already available on all other Palringo-supported platforms, will be added in the second release of Palringo for the iPhone.

Pinch Media & JumpTap Offer In-Application iPhone Advertising

Pinch Media and JumpTap announced a partnership that combines Pinch Media’s analytics and advertising technology for iPhone App Store applications with JumpTap’s mobile ad network. Developers can insert advertisements into their applications to earn revenue. The analytics module from Pinch Media provides a comprehensive view into the number of unique users, length of time the application is being used, geographic location and other valuable data.  

“By adding ad-supported iPhone applications to JumpTap’s mobile advertising network, we can immediately provide high-quality brand advertisers to our developers,” said Greg Yardley, Pinch Media’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “Pinch Media’s iPhone-optimized advertising and analytics package provides iPhone developers with a straightforward and simple way to expand their businesses.” 

iPhone traffic currently represents over 30 percent of US page views among top mobile sites. Since Apple launched its 3G iPhone July 12th, more than 800 applications have become available.
